Myself and Zack were introduced to this past-time this weekend. I think I had a bit more fun than he did

We took the girls for their first SUP last year, we watched on with a whining Cocker Spaniel by our side. After a few minutes i let him off as i knew he wanted a paddle, just hadn't realised he would spend all afternoon out on the lake, swimming from board to board and having a ride along the way.

Just tried this weekend with the kayak but he seemed less impressed with that and just jumped out at any opportunity.

Lol.. Zac looks well pissed off in that first photo..
What you doing on a paddle board anyway:LOL:
Andy.

Interesting fact - did you know that "stand up paddle boarding" originated in Haiwai in the 1940s out of the long board surfing school and, in English, is both an anagram and a synonym of "easy as falling off a log" if you change a few letters and discard a few others.

Just one little word of caution, it is very tempting for dogs to keep swimming and tire themselves too much trying to keep up with owners, our Lily does this sometimes and then ends up getting a bit stressed/unhappy so if she's likely to be swimming around for a while we put her buoyancy aid jacket on her to give her a bit of help so she can rest a little bit.

I like taking my kayak on the sea and going up and down on the waves ... can't really do with that a paddle board.

I like the variety after sitting down all day in the sea kayak and as much as I enjoyed taking him out in the Sevylor when he was younger, there’s nowhere for him on the current boat.

I would like to have a go at paddle boarding.
Somewhere very warm though ?

I’m getting more adventurous with SUP board in waves, but it’s certainly not the place for the dog ?

I had my first go at SUPB a few weeks ago. Got to admit I only fell in twice. But now I am hooked.
