Spark, no spark, spark, no spark

What on earth is wrong with the spark ignition on my Thetford Triplex grill? A few weeks back, when last used it would not spark. Yesterday it was sparking fine, today nothing again. The oven spark is fine. Why would it suddenly stop working?

But seriously it’s got to be a loose connection somewhere, have you fiddled with it..?

Give the metal around the igniter a bloody good clean, maybe even a bit of wet and dry - the spark needs a good contact to jump to.

On my old bus I was told the cooker ignition did not work. I pressed on the button and held it in place for two minutes and as if by magic it started sparking again. I don't know know why or how but pressing and holding cleared the issue.

Just like a spark plug you need to clean the contacts.
Also if the oven sparker is to close or shorting the grill spark will go through that so no power to the grill spark.
