Thinking about getting hold of a spare Thetford C200 toilet cassette and just wondered if anyone else carries a second one with them

I'd think about where to store it first if full ( or why bother with spare ) and producing fumes that could vent off with this heat motorhome may start smelling like public toiletThinking about getting hold of a spare Thetford C200 toilet cassette and just wondered if anyone else carries a second one with them
what, are you really saying we should be pissing into empty pop bottles.... wow this motor homing lark is certainly living the dream.... no thanksSome people can afford a pot to pee in some dont but if you had a plastic bottle ( or bucket ) it would help with the longevity of the toilet if you cant empty every couple of days not a problem use pot and empty in a toilet
No 2 is the one you need waste point for
That will slow filling process
We carry a spare cassette. When the original cassette is full, we store it on the floor in the garage. Never noticed any fumes or venting in hot weather.
Fiamma sell an under chassis mounted container to house a spare cassette.
We don't use the spare cassette very often but it's very handy as an emergency backup. It extends our trips away from civilisation from 2 to 4 days.
the two of us can use it for maybe 7 days before it's full.
.
I don't know how that's possible ....i travel alone I have two cassettes which lasts me 8 or 9 days and I'm not a big drinker and will use public toilets where possible.Wow - dunno how much you put into it each day then..... ours is a C200 cassette (basically, the smallest type), and the two of us can use it for maybe 7 days before it's full.
What we don't do though, is flush it every time.
Just a spray bottle filled with water plus disinfectant, used around the bowl a couple of times a day.
I can't see how 2 people could make one cassette last 7 days.
Yes we didn't really realise until we bought this bloody Hymer how small the cassette actually is !Always carry a spare, only gets used occasionaly but wouldn't be without it. Even more important as this van has the stupid swivel bowl loo that has a smaller cassette.
I have had to empty every day as been stuck near van after surgery but the bonus was that the boss had to do it as I wasn't able to lift anythingIt's only 2 lt smaller than the bench but difference between 3 days verses 4 days between emptying.

Bit of fermentation for a few days hope you change filter regularlyGenuinely, it does.
I do often empty it after about 4 or 5 days, but I know we can usually go 7 days if needs be.
And we both use if for wees and poos as required.
The BIG difference I reckon is the almost-never-flushing. Not needed for wees and mostly not even needed for poos if you are "accurate". The spray bottle disinfectant around the bowl technique is really good as an alternative, and adds literally almost no additional liquid to the cassette
But also because we have a SOG extraction system, we don't have to part fill the emptied out cassette with chemical liquids ready for next use either.
You haven't been on a train lately then as they still dump waste on the tracks now !![]()
The old days didn't need a waste tank as long as you aren't stopped
I've a folding army one I got in eBay ...does a grand job ....although I've not needed it in Spain so farWe also carry one of these

I use these, they're very good, eliminate the need to aim at the hole and absolutely no mess at all.Genuinely, it does.
