So we're travelling on the motorway in Spain, and the indicated limit on the roadside is 120kph.

We've got a 6.4 metre PVC plated at 3,500kg.

Now we have an all new, all singing, motorhome sat-nav (well new to us, we bought it off another Funster ;) ). It is based on a Garmin system and has the details of our van programmed in. Think it's one promoted by the C&MH Club.

Anyway, when the roadside speed limit increases to 120kph, a little van symbol pops up on the sat-nav indicating the maximum limit for us is 100kph?

Is that right - always assumed we could do 120kph, like we can do 70mph in the UK. :)

Speed limits for Motorhomers on motorways changed in Spain end of January.
Under 3500kg increased to 120 kph, over 3500kg reduced to 90kph.
Used to be 100 for all Motorhomes.

Have you updated the maps? Even though it is new, the maps will be the ones in date when it was manufactured.

A tip for using in the UK - UK speed limits are based on an unladen weight of 3050 kg. If you have the weight in as 3500kg, the satnav will show you should be doing 50mph on A roads with a limit of 60mph.

Ah, that explains things! Thanks!

Sounds like the sat-nav requires an update... ;) (y)

That is a good point - thanks!

We've only used it for this trip, and probably didn't notice the indicative speed limit en route to the Tunnel in the UK. :)

Will adjust the setting. (y)
