After years of dithering have decided to head to warmer climes we want to head for Benidorm area mid Feb to March
Some say we should try to book a campsite others say that time of year their should be plenty of spaces
Will be taking our two doggies as I understand some sites don't accept
Any advice most welcome

I was looking for a site for a week around Benidorm in early March last month, quite a few sites were already fully booked, I ended up going through the Asci book and got lucky on my 4th campsite.
This year in Feb/Mar it seemed that sites had pitchs available for up to 3 nights without booking but I think if you want to stay longer then you will need to book.

I think you'll find that a lot of the sites in Benidorm area will be stuffed out with Brit's and other Nationalities overwintering that's not to say you won't find somewhere but your choice may be limited
The C&CC organise Winter rally's at Camping Almafra and Camping Imperium which are very popular so if your a member you could possibly book onto one of them

We stayed at Alicante Imperium in February this year site is fair, but not brilliant. It's next door to metal recovery plant... Noisy and dusty. Look elsewhere if I were you.

We have stayed at the Imperium for the last 3 years and love it going again this year (y)

I agree. Several campers we met when travelling south suggested the Imperium, as they book ahead (by a year) for Christma. We stayed there but to be honest - lovely site - but as mentioned noisy and dusty. Unless you have a car, the beach is 30 mins + walk away, with no dog walking areas around the site, and a ban on dog walking on the site!

We wouldn't go back but many long-termers on the site (caravans) loved it.
