Somport Tunnel Closure

For anyone thinking of using the Somport Tunnel from France into Spain, there has been a landslip and it will be be closed until next year .
The next easy crossing would be via the Bielsa Tunnel, which is our preferred route anyway.

Didn't realise the Bielsa Tunnel was closed as well. It is supposed to open again in a few weeks, but the Somport will be next year.
Someone suggested going via the Col Du Pourtalet on the D934, we have been that way but it is not as easy as the the Bielsa.

I reckon it'll be next year for Bielsa too.

I suppose it depends where your heading,we usually use the West coast route and Somport tunnel heading Murcia way so were going down the centre of France this time.

Bit of confusion on this. Looking at the photos on other threads and here, they show the same damage to the same road, but one says it is the Somport tunnel route and the other that is is the Bielsa route.

The photo I put on is on the way to the Somport tunnel,French side. All the water took a left at the end of the wall!

Yeah looks like the same road, this is the Bielsa one.
