I have just had a solar panel fitted to my Autocruise Rhythm to charge my leisure battery. Can I connect anything to also charge the vehicle battery

Vanbitz BatteryMaster.

When the leisure battery is at a higher voltage than motor it will do a trickle charge. Ideal for solar so you can leave it on leisure all the time and know the slight drain on motor from alarms and thinks won't leave you with a flat battery.

yes is the short answer.

was the panel wired to an existing charger ?
when you are connected to EHU does your Veh battery get charged also? if it does chances are it is already set up or get a battery master fitted.

or a solar 'dual charge controller'

Solar panel connected directly to the leisure battery.

I see your avatar says van conversion, so assuming your cab battery is connected to a charger and not just to the alternator you could fit a battery master.

Thanks everyone, I will look into the battery master.

You can have the wiring from the solar regulator go to the EC450 unit and charge both batteries through the built in smart charging feature (the plug needed with wiring can be purchased from Sargent electrical).
Or as your solar panel is already connected via a regulator to your leisure battery ,as suggested, fit a Vanbitz battery master which is very easy as your batteries are close to each other

Another vote for the Vanbitz battery master. It’s available through the MHF online shop at a discount and has been a brilliant addition to our van.
