We arrived on Wednesday and it has rained and snowed ever since. Very very cold. Currently in the Loire valley on one of the Camping Car Park aires plugged into the mains and waiting for it to pass over. We had to stop for a while on the way down as visibility was dangerously low in heavy snow. Can't believe it! This wasn't the plan at all.

We are crossing to Dieppe on Monday then meandering down to Spain. I've been contemplating whether to take the snow chains or not as I have winter tyres.
I think the answer now is to take them.

We are down below Bordeaux and are currently at Messanges plage, it’s been sunny and a nice temperature up until today. It feels colder today and we have had a bit of wind and a hail shower but we are on the coast .

We are doing the same tomorrow heading to Champagne and then onto the Loire Valley but have packed Winter and spring/summer clothes just incase.

Been snowing all day in Burgundy. Started at 07:00. Scheduled to snow all night too. But little wind and doesn’t feel too cold.
Arrived a week ago and it was so sunny and warm, that we contemplated a swim in the l’etaing. 😱

We've just drove up from Neufchatel en bray it was awful. Snow, sleet and very high winds blowing the van all over the place. We are currently at Gravelines and it's still 40mph winds. We also had thundersnow last night.😳

I was asking the boss this morning shall we leave winter (9.5 tog) quilts in the van or put the summer ones in (4.5 tog).
She said I thought we were going somewhere warm.

I think I know what I'm going to do now.

Definitely 9.5 tog cold down here :(
Our first motorhome was classed as being able to be slept in, without heating, overnight (with appropriate bedding/clothing) down to -29c.

We did, but with Refillable gas tanks (smiles)

Don't be soft

I wish we were heading that way in the Moho. We are going in the car.

That is our bestest place in France..... we normally stay at A La Cote.... towards Souston, currently closed as having work done on a kids play area, walk down into Port D'Albret and have the best omelette in France, cheap as chips but lovely, also round the lake to have the best Moules....... got us jealous and can't wait till its our turn.... Enjoy !!!!

Tignes, right now.

Lovely sunny weather until Wednesday then it's snowed on and off since. Skied this morning as it had brightened up but gave up at lunchtime as we couldn't see where we were going.

Our friends in Limoges have just messaged to say they have a covering of snow now.
Spring has spring. Just not in France!
Be careful on the road all 👍

Where are going skiing?
We are off to Les Deux Alpes For the 5th time. We stay at Champ du Moulin in the village of Venosc below. It’s a fab campsite. We take the gondola up to L2A and then it’s only a short walk to the main lifts. Sadly I have had thumb surgery so just spectating and relaxing for me this year.

Lovely 👍 We've had more snow here in Tignes so your skiers are going to have a great time. Shame about the thumb, enjoy the views ....and the vin chaud.... and the wine 👍

currently sat on the aire at Montreuil sur mer, ready for our tunnel tomorrow. It is snowing at the moment and freezing cold.

Knew I had put my winter coat up too early.
Going to F on Tuesday so will be getting said coat out again and a couple of woolies!

I read that France is going to have a problem with lost fruit blossom this year which will badly affect the crop.

Vic-Sur-Aisne last year, 21c. This year, same day, 3c.

Biggest difference year on year we have had is St. Larry-Soulan in the Pyrenees. -17c one year, 21c the following year. That’s a 38 degree difference. 1FE2A441-39C5-433F-ACE8-9B3C61FF614C.jpeg
