Smart car towable

Hi can any body tell me if I can Tow A smart Car on a frame year 2019 auto triptronic 900cc or has anyone got one for sale thanks Andy

No it's not a semi auto like the 450 or 451 smart cars.

Hi, the answer is no, you can’t tow a newer smart on an A frame. You would need a trailer. As it happens if you look on classifieds I have one for sale . If your towing abroad you would have to have a trailer. See recent threads about towing abroad.

Unfortunately I can't remember! There is at least one thread on here from a few years ago about it though.

I've never towed on an a frame (just an old 3-wheeled Bond Minicar on a bar) however I don't like the stress etc they place on the vehicle being towed, I know others disagree but that's their choice. I would always trailer a car.

Both the smart 453 4 2 auto shift and the 453 4 4 manual are trailer only.
Both require the engines to be running to lubricate the gearbox.
