Slide out step maintenance

I have a slide out step that seems to be a bit gritty (you can here the dirt caught up somewhere). Anyone got a link or steps for maintenance of this?

Looks very similar to mine, what make is it? Mine (Project 200) has been a real problem, sticks when opening/closing. Have narrowed it down to the guide bearings which are rubbish to say the least. I've spent ages cleaning the guide channels and then using silicone spray. Maybe try that? Be careful though the mechanism is strong so would suggest disconnecting from power before getting you fingers near the mechanism. The other issue with mine is it judders slightly on retraction and this causes it to go go in at a slight angle causing it to jam. I have to give it a helping hand/foot to get it to retract properly. Project 2000 electric step sticking.

I've got a Project 2000 single electric step that I'm having a bit of a problem with. The step comes out fine but when I press the button to retract the step it seems to get stuck about a quarter of the way in. If I give it a 'helping hand/foot' it will retract fully, as normal.
