i`m a newbie
High winds on outer Hebridies over the last few nights rattled the sky light over rear bed on my authorial cheyenne and while on the ferry back to Harris today it ripped off and smashed on the deck luckily missing anything.
Once off the ferry a kind local lifted me up on a forklift to temporarily duct tape and polyethylene over the frame stopping the fan and bed below getting wetter till i get a new one fitted.
So  has this happened to you ? Are they special individual items or will any of the same size fit ? Saw a few on e bay and I kept the remnants to use as reference.
Hoping the ductape holds till home .
Thanks.

Yikes. How on earth does the wind do that sort of damage. Rotten luck.

I hope your duct tape holds.

i blew off this morning too

Sorry to hear of your incident. Hope you get it repaired quickly and cheaply.

I lost a heki rooflight that an Atlantic storm passing through sw scotland ripped off the roof. Glued and tapped in place for the rest of the holiday.
I guess any replacement needs to fit the original size hole but don't expect parts to be interchangeable between brands.
I was lucky the new dome had the same fittings as the smashed one

Never. In storm conditions or while in vehicle is in motion I keep the windows and top vents closed firmly

They were all firmly closed and checked often in the gales but i think the vibration got it in the end.

Yep, lost one overnight at Burry Port.
It was closed at the time, replaced the whole thing with a mini Bell
Cheers. Nige

Ours blew off too in an auto trail apache while sitting on the driveway. I wasn't sure if I had left it slightly open on the way back from Newcastle but you'd have thought it would've blown off on the journey. Not cheap to replace either.
