The smallest Sky Glass would be huge in our little Motorhome but I’d like one.
Does your current setup use a Firestick or Smart TV for steaming? Is the Mifi those need giving you good quality streams?
If so, The Sky Glass would replace those nicely.
Not sure what works for free on Sky Glass. Probably the same as you had with an FS/smart TV, but to benefit from Sky Glass you’d need a channel subscription and the UHD add on.
If you’ve no Mifi now, and not planning on trying to use a campsite’s WiFi there’ll be those complications to consider.
I think Sky Glass is going to assume it has a very good home internet connection and will care very little about the amount of data it consumes. I wouldn't be surprised if it churns through a good chunk of a GB a day just sitting there. It's also not likely to be particularly light and tough, so may not take too kindly to being bounced around in a motorhome. Although plenty of people have no issues using domestic TVs in their motorhomes.
I worked for Sky for 13 years as a installations engineer and Sky glass came out just after I finished.
Honestly, I wouldn’t bother too much hassle and the data usage would not make it worth while due to the cost of paying Sky back for the tv, subscriptions and the data.
If you have Q at home and you don’t use multi room I would just use the SkyQ box and take that with you and once finished take it back home.
Good points about what a Sky Glass might be doing with data for its background tasks and filling the Guide(EPG), etc.
So, quite a bit more to it than a regular Smart TV/ Firestick type solution.
Simpler may be best for a Motorhome
Edit: With Sky Glass, your recordings are in the cloud too, so if you’re watching recordings or pausing live tv I’d expect extra data usage.
