Just been sent this video from a new member asking for some advice as you can hear ( I hope ) the pump is making a heck of a racket but still pumping water with out spluttering , I guess it’s got air in it but what do you think . This motorhome is brand new . Right I can’t upload the video but it’s making a burrering noise like if as you had run it empty and it was just priming it self any ideas

We would if you linked the video ;)

OOPS sorry you can't ?

Martin

If its pumping with no air spluttering it should be fairly quiet and to be fair there is next to nothing in the pump to make a noise, do you think it could just be the way it is installed, could the filter body or some part be touching something and rattling.

Martin

That’s a good point Martin it could be they are away in the van at the moment but will tell them to check that ,thank you ?

Swash plate bearing failed or loose. The pump itself should be quiet whether pumping water or not - it simply runs faster when not pumping.

Thanks Tony, do you think this would happen on a brand new pump ?

Assuming we're discussing noise from the pump itself rather than poor mounting I can't think of any other cause. To be certain though the pump needs to be held clear of its mounting whilst in operation.

Perhaps the 4 rubber feet got tightened down too much during installation. They are there to dampen down vibration.
That's what I'd assume that it is, either too tight or too slack. Probably worth having a quick look at the 4 mounting screws and little rubber feet. The rubber feet distort a bit as the screws get tighter.

But after that, on a new van, I'd be thinking of taking it back.

The in and out should have flexible tails and as said above the rubber feet shouldn't be tightened down too hard.

Thanks everyone I will let you know how they get on ,it must be very disappointing to have something go wrong on a brand new van especially when they had a lot older van that didn’t seem to give them any bother .? so Mark O don’t be shy come on the forum let us know how you are progressing and if you have had to involve my favourite dealer ship (not) .

Old thread I know, but mine was making a din last night and still pumping, was great at Chester last weekend and I haven’t emptied the water circuit, only the tanks, but seems normal today, but I’m getting a spare👍
