Firstly, water pressure is fine everywhere except the shower.

It's not the shower head because removing the shower head makes no difference to the low water pressure.

This is a Knaus Sun TI and tracing where a blockage is, would be a challenge for the Almighty.

Anyone know if the shower tap has some sort of filter inside that might be blocked?

A few years ago I fitted a shower holder to the ceiling to make a rain shower, so showering is still possible letting gravity do the work, but if I rotate the shower head until the spray holes are facing upwards, the flow is abysmal.

I've just finished a Turkey sojourn and have now been traveling in Bulgaria for the last 7 weeks, this is a new problem starting only about 2 weeks ago.

It's got to be a blockage somewhere, but any suggestions where to look before I start disassembling the plumbing would be gratefully appreciated 🫣

Cheers everyone.

You have checked the shower head, have you also checked the hose, they can get knotted inside.

Maybe it’s got air in the pipe. Maybe give it a good blow through. As said, maybe the pipe is twisted.

Hi Guys,

Pipe is not twisted, it's spiral metal sheathed and straight.

As for air, that would blow through with a pipe full of water continually flowing, and there's no spluttering with the flow, just reduced water flow.

A restriction somewhere I suspect, but at a loss to know how, or where, as it's essentially a closed system.

Full fresh water tank puts a head of pressure in the line which would expel air.

I suspect the tap, but it's a bit of a job to get it out, but it might be the only option.

I've the tap mixer out about a year or so ago when resealing the shower tray and wall-floor joints.

Thanks for the comments.

We had low pressure at one tap, it was the pump. Defys logic but it had been slow 6 years, the pump packed up and the new pump that was the same as the old one and pressure was resumed.

If it's only the shower affected, it can only be the shower tap, head or hose.

It won't be working via gravity if it needs a pump?

Check for turkey teeth ..😄😄😄😄😄

As above, shower tap, head and hose, but my instinct is the tap

Two thoughts
Have you got pressure when hose is removed.
You worked on tap previously, otherwise system not changed.
Finally, the shower demands greater lift than taps, it is higher and has constant resistance, could the fault be at the pump but not noticeable at taps.

I've just installed a new pump because I suspected it first up.

No change in shower low water flow after installing the new pump 🤬

Now you have a working spare and a challenge to resolve.
Seriously though, this has to be resolved and as no electrical parts appear to be involved you seem to have come down to plumbing pipework .
Removing the shower head and opening the pipe by turning on the taps or disconnecting the pump, with pump turned off. Blowing down the shower pipe, unless the thin pipe inside the chrome sleeve is twisted, clear any other blockage
