Shower allocation etiquette

Just got back from recent visit up north.
Everything was OK, apart from our very English weather, perhaps to be expected at this time of year.
Anyway, Wife has reported back, that for the second recent visit away (at separate sites) she has noted in the Female Toilet block there seems to be a trend growing where vacant Shower Cubicles have belongings left within them indicating that this space is taken, when obviously it is clearly vacant while other facilities are being used within the facility block by those that have left their belongings within the Shower Cubicle.
Is this a trend that has been noted by others?
We, are at an age where if all facilities are being used, we are happy to stand, or in a forming que, not to jump the que or be seen to be unfair to others.
Should we be as ruthless as seems to be a growing trend.
We are not in the Mediterranean where we have seen this practice with Sunbeds.
I think we are just too old where respect others around that want to use the facilities us to be honest.
Unless of course there is a genuine medical need to rush from one facility to another without having to stand in a possible que?
Not sure but it may be a growing concern if nothing else.

I prefer to open the shower door, sling out the occupant and take my shower, the water is always warm by then

Swimming pool rules in my opinion, if your stuffs left unattended in a changing room/cubicle ill assume its been abandoned and move it onto a dry flat surface then use the facilities myself.

I think you've inadvertently proposed the next big 'improvement' in motorhome design. Perhaps those toilets you often find on the continent are the way forward. The ones where you stand up to undertake your duties, but could also be designed to function as a shower aswell in a motorhome, it would be ideal for self builds in smaller vans looking to save room or is that a idea???

Another example of entitledness. I'd move it, you're not a mind reader so don't know how long you might have to wait for the heir apparent to diegn to return.Would they be as understanding having to wait for you to finish your ablutions to collect their stuff?$#÷¥em.

I think it would be perfectly reasonable to just lock the door and use the shower they will have to wait until you emerge to get their stuff!

I do find it mildly irritating as it’s not the order I do things. However if there’s not another free shower I’m not going to wait for them and I’m sure they will be much more irritated to find their stuff outside when they return. Assume you need the toilet first and then go to the shower, it’s not rocket science, you’ve just walked across a field. That’s how bodies work even if it is just a wee!

Bearing in mind I only use campsite facilities if they’re nice otherwise I’d rather use the van and we’ve only got a PVC.

Seeing as I don’t use the female showers I can only talk for the male showers, if I seen someone stuff and they was someone at the urinal I’d wait as it can happen to us all we get ready for shower then need a pee, I’d certainly rather do that than use a shower after someone had peed in it. If there was no sign of anyone then I’d assume they’d left their stuff and safety place it outside the cubicle for them.

Yes & then they want to USE the shower as that is why they left it there whilst using other equipment/pool etc.

What type of belongings are being left ? Towels / clothes or stuff like shower gel/shampoo.
My partner tells me that she often finds cubicles with gel/shampoo left in but not clothing/towels.
She just assumes someone's forgotten to take their "products" with them when leaving the shower.

find the odd 'forgotten' item , usually an empty bottle.. but never seen a shower 'bagged' using a towel or clothing ..

If I did I would place it outside and use the shower...

I have popped my stuff in a sower then gone to the loo but only when there are other empty showers. Yes we do have one in the van, and I complain it is too big find with my plaster that it has not quite enough room.
Would be tempted to remove clothing er if I was ready for my shower. Thi kit maybe a growing trend. Cleaners Ono site removed them and put them on a side shelf. When I indicated I wanted to put mi e in before using the toilet was told no, is ok for you pointing to my arm

Use the loo first, surely you take all your stuff required to shower with in a bag. I walk over in my nice fleecy dressing gown wearing my ghastly crocs. I have my showering gear plus flip flops in a bag. I might even have my clean clothes in there.

Hang it on a peg in the loo. If the toilet/shower block doesn’t even have that level of equipment then you won’t find me in it. Be thoughtful of others.

Most decent shower blocks have a disabled shower with a loo in for those who need them if you’re on a site.

Soaped myself and the spent.an age trying to get the shower to work again. Eventually it did so rinsed myself and started to shampoo my hair. Despite trying all combinations of pushing the water button it refused to work. My only recourse was to wrap my towel around myself and use the other shower. No, I did not move my stuff. I was so furious and getting cold I thought “sod it”. If anyone else wants that shower I am doing them a favour by occupying both cubicles. I know it’s a rare event but I don’t feel selfish occupying both cubicles.

Isn't there some sort of crossover here, pee in grey water isn't that a no no.
