Just had a phone call my brother in law who spent the day at the show today, and will be staying tonight.
He suggested we don’t waste our time travelling the 20 miles, as in his words “the show is rubbish“. His words! If you expect to view a few vans that what is just a few vans.

colyboy

I think it telling that even @VanBitz who are only 40 minutes down the road from Shepton Malett and have their own trade show vehicle all set up are not at the show.

You can understand traders not wanting to schlep half way across the country, but if even the locals are not turning up, it would suggest to me it's not worth going.

There was very little there last year but we had free tickets so thought we’d have a look, that was just for the day. Bearing in mind that was before Covid19, I still think we were round in less than a couple of hours.

Depends what you are looking for I guess. We see it as a chance to catch up with people and be 'out'. You don't have to get close to have chat. Caught up with young DuxDeluxe yesterday. Plenty of space to wander around. All the stalls are well spread out. Agree that in the few minutes we wandered round as it was closing last night there don't seem to be many vans for sale.

I don’t think that Eddie does many of the shows nowadays.

Also they may have all been listening to buttons advice on sticking to stuffy restaurants rather than being outside in the open and camping at double distances :whistle2:

We are here and having a good time. I'll be watching slade on YouTube tonight though. I do have one criticism though, we weren't given a site map or anything, so not sure where I'm gonna tip our sh#@ tonight or where to get water.

I think it’s been a while since vanbitz did one of their shows. Think it might have been to do with the pricing structure

I was wondering about cassette disposal......

I have never been there but Norfolk shows have points for emptying by the toilets

I found it at the rear corner of the yellow toilet block
That's the first yellow toilet block as you came into the main camping area. Small block built enclosure just behind the main toilet block.

Ah, yes, the yellow block close to me doesn’t have one

Bridget my wife and I went to the show yesterday, I had logged on to Warner’s web and registered for free tickets a while ago, with it in mind it could be crap and as it was free if it rained then nothing lost.

When we arrived at 11.20am the day parking looked busier than we had expected. We made our way to the check in entrance and thought this does’nt look too bad. Once on site we were pleased to see many other visitors were wearing face coverings as we were.
Admitted that a lot of the usual trade dealers were not in attendance but the one’s that were there had made an effort and although only the first day most seemed quite busy.
There were a few VW camper conversion companies showing off their vans but what was a disappointment, as has been mentioned earlier, hardly any dealers with motor homes on display, I H had made a long trip south and had some very expensive models on display, Pearman Briggs, Davan from Weston super Mare and a couple of other’s had a selection of new and used models.

We had bought a couple of items we may never use and were back to our car by 12.45pm. An interesting thing we noticed was how many other people were doing as we were, picking lunches ! Is this an age related thing .

What are we going to do now ? We decided to fill the afternoon by driving over to our dealers, West Country Motorhomes, only a 20 minute drive from the show ground, we managed to spend more there on “ goodies “ than was available at the show. We then headed just up the road to Highbridge for a look around, both dealers seemed very short on used motor homes so it made sense why they had not done the show.
Cream tea on the way home, that finished off a good day out.

* Notice, My wife has a name, not just “ the wife “ browney points, eh.

The email I received had a site map, explaining there would be none handed out on site due to the risk of spreading the virus. (y)

We went and spent a few hundred quid. Minster Thermal screen cover, Silver Mirror Guards and £5 for MMM
Deal......Cup of tea on site. Sat in the car to eat our picnic before driving home (40 minutes).

Hardly exciting, but there were more people there than we thought there would be. In the present climate I thought it was a fair attempt.;)

You just had to turn it into a toilet thread....
Ok, what else did you expect from me? Somebody has to keep standards down....

We went today, honestly very disappointed. 50% of the stands were nothing to do with MoHo stuff, selling all that middle of the mall crap... a few ok stands but as others have said, arrived 10.30 and in the car by 11.30.... went to Clark’s Village 😂😂😂
