Perhaps this might help…….?

I notice that the user manual suggests ‘connecting your pc to the control box using a usb cable’ - not really helpful unless you have a laptop……! (Or a really long usb cable…..;))

In that case, it may be worth contacting the vendor you bought it from and asking them if they can help…..?
Was it Pulsat or some one else…….?
Sorry I can’t suggest anything else - we stopped at Snipe 2 and went to streaming…

You say you've downloaded the firmware update (if not the latest firmware version from Selfsat website is below - double check it's the correct version).

You have to make sure of a number of things before attempting the upgrade -
  • the USB stick must be USB2 (not USB3)
  • the USB stick must be formatted as FAT32 (not exFAT, NTFS, etc)
  • we've only got a Snipe 2 however this "constraint" may be the same for your model - do not use a large capacity USB stick, say a maximum of 8Gb (I used an old 1Gb stick)
  • the USB stick must be empty
  • the firmware file must be unzipped to the root directory of the USB stick (not to any sub-folder)
Once you done all of that -
  • ensure the unit is turned off
  • plug your USB stick into USB socket on your controller
  • press and hold "SET" button and turn on the power
  • the upgrade should start and the satellite lights on the front of the panel should start to illuminate in sequence
  • once the upgrade has completed the controller should automatically restart
Hope it works for you.:pray2:

Note, upgrading firmware can be risky so usual caveats of "don't blame me if it all goes wrong!".:whistle2:

That's a bummer!
Why are you trying to update the firmware? Is there a problem with the controller?
When you power it on does it identify Astra 2 and then search for it?
One thing I realised I missed out on the instructions was they recommend you disconnect the controller from the dish but I doubt that would make any difference.
