V8 4.5 Litre petrol..auto gear box..All electric..no gas..Will get some more pictures when he brings it out of the garage.Nice, any more pics or details, what engine did he use ?
Looks great, but just wondering if the half shafts will take all that torque, i've broken half shafts a couple of times in a Land-rover, not the ambulance type though.V8 4.5 Litre petrol..auto gear box..All electric..no gas..Will get some more pictures when he brings it out of the garage.
My Delica which was automatic was very competent off road, it had low range and center diff lock, and axle air lockers were available as an aftermarket extra if required.Auto is a curious choice for off road
Mmm it looks like a LR 101FC ambulance which would normally sport a 3.5 V8 with 4 speed box, 2 speed transfer and center diff lock.....essentially the drive from the Range Rover of the day (1970's). The civi owners club is called '6 stud' as its the only LR produced that featured a six stud wheel mount.........used to be a member myself in the dim and distant past.....! A nice machine, the best conversion being........V8 4.5 Litre petrol..auto gear box..All electric..no gas..Will get some more pictures when he brings it out of the garage.
There is one similar to that done out in Red Bull logo. It is used as a mobile disco. I have also seen one rotting away in a garden in leafy Didsbury. Not the same but similar shape.Mmm it looks like a LR 101FC ambulance which would normally sport a 3.5 V8 with 4 speed box, 2 speed transfer and center diff lock.....essentially the drive from the Range Rover of the day (1970's). Judge Dreads from the film..........
Think practically everything on chassis has been upgraded and changed..He built fuel injection system from scratch and all engine management is controlled from a touch screen in the cab..BUSBY..Looks great, but just wondering if the half shafts will take all that torque, i've broken half shafts a couple of times in a Land-rover, not the ambulance type though.
Not really , owners several off road auto 4x4s . Got one now in factAuto is a curious choice for off road
Cos the look “ard”What makes me wonder is the rationale for these type of vehicles to be painted matt/satin khaki or black. Must turn them into an oven on these Morrocan safaris.
I have but its not a proper off roader. Each to their own of course but I've always found auto pretty hopeless on loose surfacesNot really , owners several off road auto 4x4s . Got one now in fact
I’ve never had an issue including steep shale climbs up and down . The variation of control in proper auto 4x4 copes with just about everythingI have but its not a proper off roader. Each to their own of course but I've always found auto pretty hopeless on loose surfaces

Here's a random pick from YouTube.
I did Italy and back in mine, one of my sisters lives in the Austrian alps so we stayed with her for a few days on the way, we went up some of the Mountain tracks, mine was Diesel and did about 24 mpg. The best car I ever owned, I also did some off road trips with the owners club, they are very competent.I had a Delica Super Exceed (lwb) and drive to South of France a few times with the kids - lovely Captain's chairs in rear that we faced rearward and a drip down TV and video player in the roof! Bit thirsty but loved it .
My good mate's bride to be always dreamed of driving the farm tracks from her house to the church that is just visible from her bedroom window....... I volunteered and became a wedding car for the day as the 4WD was excellent.View attachment 929554
He reckons after tweaking it he scrapes 15 mpg..Too thirsty for meJust how cool does that look, but wouldn't want to pay the petrol bills.....
