Anyone had to replace the "dome" on their Heki 2 ?

Firstly i don't know how ours has broken, i can only assume it was perhaps as we opened it once or maybe if the wind forced it back ? but it was OK last October when i cleaned the roof and has hardly been used since.

Had a look around but some of the prices are pretty high and wondered if anyone sourced one at a "reasonable" price...

Plan B: has anyone repaired their's ? although the crack on ours is quite bad and i can't see it being that strong even if well repaired.

We replaced the large front one on our old van, it was easy you just took these plastic pins out the arms that push it up and down, you need two really hold the dome up then pull the plastic pins out the hinges. (y)

You get new pins for the dome, ;) and when you see how small and flimsy they are, you will never leave the roof light open again when it's windy.

We got ours from leisureshop direct, but they are not cheap, but as we were selling the van private we wanted it right. (y) Bob.

A gale ripped my midi heki dome off. Fortunately the frame was ok so an easy replacement. I needed a new blind/net as well for the other heki and it was cheaper to buy a complete unit than the separate parts.
Nowhere cheap looked everywhere- it's for a leasure vehicle so premium prices.

Thanks, Leisure Shop direct does look the cheapest at £200 ouch !

Hi, just seen this. not sure of sizes but if the heki 2 is the large dome then I may be able to help you, I had to have my heki replaced as the frame cracked and started leaking at fifteen months old so out of guarantee so had to buy a complete new unit but I kept the existing dome and inner screen. If it fits then I'm sure we could come to a price considerably less than £200.

Hi, wow what a nice post, the power of MHF !

Yes i believe mine is the large Heki (i may have been wrong with Heki 2) as a quick identifier mine has 4 hinges, the smaller ones have less.

Let me know if yours is the same and then we can sort something out.

:thanks4:

Hi, Sorry but it's not looking good, as you can see mine has only three hinges, it measures 105cm edge to edge so if anyone else reading this needs a new dome then look no further

Thanks for checking, yes mine is as 4 hinge version. Will be a nice find for someone.

Hi JP, do you still have this available. I need a new dome. Cheers Mark

I did indeed buy a replacement from Leisure Shop Direct, was about £200 in the end and the full name for our unit is a "Dometic Midi Heki" it was a bit confusing to work out exactly which model ours was but the guys at LSD sent me a guide that helps you check you're ordering the correct part.

Will be fitting it this weekend.
