Moving from a PVC to an Adria Compact with garage it seems the garage is built from thin air and black magic .
I’d like to put 2 bikes in there (they fit I’ve tried ) but securing them seems a different matter.
We have 2 rails already with eyes at either side floor level, ideally more rails higher up would be better but the rear wall looks like 30mm aluminium with insulation. Do people fix to this ?
Any advice gratefully welcome

Although we use a Thule towbar rack on our Compact SC I’ve kitted out the ‘garage’ for taking everything we’ve accumulated over the years without piling it all on top of everything. That includes some low profile Unwin L Cargo Track across the rear wall top and bottom to secure chairs, table, mats, etc. I drilled and countersunk it at approximately 200mm centres and screwed directly to the wall and it’s solid.

I have used an arm from a fiamma bike rack. This is attached to a suction handle like the ones used for carrying glass.
The handle is 'suctioned' to the garage wall at a suitable spot and the fiamma arm to the crossbar.

Have a look at this, I did the same in our sunlight.
the rack was fastened by cable tyres to the eyes in the runners.

Bikes held by bungees in the rack and ratchet straps again to eyes at the front similar to this,

no need for any holes being drilled at all.

took our two full size e bikes with batteries in place no problem.

I fixed hooks to the roof spars and use bungees to hold the bikes in place. It works most of the time but I am inclined to overfill the space.

I'll try Adie. :)

By use of threaded inserts, once the main adjustment is taken up by the ratchet adjuster, rotation of the bar allows finer adjustment to secure the bar in place.

Thanks for answering, our garage roof seems to be just very thin plywood or similar, I can push it up with one finger.

I did the same in our Knaus after seeing this video. It works a treat and it takes seconds to secure the bikes with a luggage strap.
