We have the long hair large ones purchased from Ebay and none, zilch, nyet, non, nien, hair has come off.
Worthy of giving them a brush every once in a while when some does come off but not in the case of normal use.

FiL has reindeer which is very short and no chance whatsoever of hairs coming off.
