In another post someone was saying how the best prices for an item are not always on ebay or amazon. My question is is there a way to search but removing those two sources from the results?

Lots of price comparison sites such as pricespy, not sure if you can actually remove those 2 from the search but you can just ignore them.

Either that or google and scan through

For amazon prices you can use camelcamelcamel to check price trends, highest, lowest, average. Prices can fluctuate from hour to hour, day to day, so if it often goes down it will again if you wait.

Amazon always post their prices being the best - but if you drill into the “new / used” bit below their prices you will sometimes find cheaper prices from external sellers.

And if not cheaper you will nearly always get a similar price but without the £20 Amazon minimum free postage.
