Baileys Autograph

Newbie
Hi everybody, newbie here, we live in Norfolk and have a Baileys Autograph, had it since February and haven’t been anywhere in it yet, I’m sure we’re not alone, that’s all about to change but before we start there’s one or two little jobs to be done, rear bumper and rear wheel arch gaskets need to be replaced and I’m wondering if anyone knows how to get them off,

:welc::WelcomeFlag:
Best way is a blowtorch and crowbar

😁 No idea really

Thanks Ed, I’m sure I’ll work it out sooner or later

Whether a jointing compound or a gasket type trim ,the easiest way to repair it is to remove it completely, spotlessly clean and (scrupulously) sterilise all joint surfaces and re seal with Sikaflex or similar. get a set of these tools shown in this utube vid...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DI4hfHM_Hg and practise on something other than the van, when your happy with you new skill, go for it. You will go nuts once you suss it out and go on a resealing rampage all round the house.

I cant see why that seal has come adrift like that? probably lack of attention on the install and not cleaned and sterilised properly??

i would buy some astonish mold remover get it at home bargains or such like clean the seals do not remove them if they clean up well just stick the seals back with sikafix

They are only a trim between panels, not a seal. The best thing I have found to clean them is a flash magic eraser, these work well on all the white plastic bits on the exterior. Please note that these are slightly abrasive so, avoid rubbing on paintwork.

Just got mine off by putting a flat head screwdriver against the trim and pushing in toward the van body. Once one end came out then it just peeled away by pulling. Now the tricky part. I've bought the trim (Amazon ) to replace and I've been trying for two days now. Can't get the new trim behind the wheel arch to clip on. Driving me nuts. Any advice gratefully accepted.

Try some fairy liquid or light oil so that they slip in

Cheap deodorant is sometimes useful..... It evaporates over time but gives you some slippy surface to work with for a time - learned this trick putting grips on bike and motorcycle handlebars.

Drive through your local safari park - the monkey's will have them off quicker than you can say Jack Robinson.
