Once again I am asking for shared knowledge from the Fab Funsters living in my computer.
The locker door on the drivers side of out Hymer seems too have a large chunk of black rubber seal missing and I think [well hope -! as other threads suggest dire ingress form god knows where in such a locker spells Big Trouble] this is where water gets in sometimes and hides under the mat inside the locker.
I have driven self cross eyed looking for rubber seals /rubber piping /locker seals /Hymer parts/compression seals/sea life centres etc - no products seem to look anything like the strip we are missing.
I am not sure exactly what the strip is called - that doesn't help - have searched MH fun but most threads refer to gas piping.
It is odd -the missing piece seems to have been cut out of a strip that should go all the way around the locker, or possibly a piece the wrong size was used? Or maybe there should not be a continuous strip in the door?
. It was always like that when we got it from Travelworld- the leak is intermittent [depends on the direction of the rain?] and I am not sure if there should be a different strip along the bottom edge of the door or if the missing bit has fallen out [or never been inserted after we had the water heater repaired ?

I enclose pics of the strip we have - any help gratefully received. It may be that we don't need exactly the same profile strip ? Or more likely it is a special Hymer part that we will have to buy from Germany at a cost of £100 per cm with added post and packing .

Thank you XX

Ours are the same on a Pilote they are at the bottom of the door so that water does not get trapped every door is *missing* about three inches of rubber and is fine although they do trap a lot of road muck

You could try here if you can’t see the profile you can ask them as they may know where to get it.

That locker has a double seal, one at the back fixed to the door frame and one at the front that fixed to the door. The one at the front does not continue at the bottom so as to allow any water that does get through the front seal to drain out. That water cannot get into the inside because of the design of the locker frame and the inner seal

Exactly the same as the top hinged door on my Hymer. It is meant to be like that

Our Hymer is the same about a 12-15 inch gap in the outer seal along the bottom, the inner seal is complete.
Mine is slightly different to Peter's both seals on mine are on the door.

Thank you guys- our door is missing almost the whole length along the edge with the lock in it. But if it meant to have a missing strip - why is water getting into the locker ? [aaaaaargh- back to the threads of horror about water leaking in from the roof xx]

Because the seal on the door is more than likely up side down with the join at the bottom rather than the top

Water runs down the seal into the jojn in the bottom middle and into the locker

I pulled mine off cleaned with silicone spray and reattached back and it's been fine since

Yes surely the gap in the seal should be at the bottom not the top?

I don't know if this will work but a light hijack to the thread, couple of the doors on mine have a sticker about lubricating the seals periodically? Im assuming to maintain their flexibility? BUT what with and how often is the question?

Sounds correct.
The inner seal should stop any water getting in, the outer seal is more of a gap filler.

The inner seal is what I'm on about

All of mine have a gap at the bottle where the water pools and if there's alot it's seeped into the garage area through the join at the bottom.

Took rubber off than turned it round to have the join at the top, had no other issues and the other van has the same rubber on the door that your on about and it's only on the top half of the door

I used Seals Direct for the habitation door seal, very quick service.
I ordered this for a 2009 Pilote G732
