Seal Above Thule Awning turning black (1 Viewer)

Hi all anyone ever had the white rubber seal above the awning start to turn black due to water contamination
Being told by the dealer this is not covered on an 18 month old motorhome and if I want it replaced I have to pay for the part plus labour
The seal is contaminated along its complete length

I fitted one of the grey Thule ones myself it has got a lot of mouldy spots in it after 4 or 5 years ouw fault for not cleaning it often enough but nothing like as bad as yours.

I don't think you will have much luck going further with a warranty claim they will say you should have cleaned it more often. I

Hi Lenny I paid a lot of money to have it Diamond Brite treated.I did not expect to have to get up on a ladder more regularly than we do which is every few weeks
To me a vehicle designed to spend its life in the elements should not discolour after 18 months.

I don’t know the exact price but we have one on ours, it also went black but still did its job stopping the gap filling with leaves

I don’t think it will cost £100 to buy a new one

Agree it’s not good but also agree it could have been kept cleaner, ours comes up a lot better when valeted each year

Just had a brand new one fitted with new awning so we are OK for another year or so

I think yours will always look worse for being white, we have a grey one

£40 - £50 approx.

Ours is grey and has gone mouldy too.
It is less than 3 years old.
I have given up trying to clean it as nothing works.

Same with my Thule one. I'll replace it eventually.
