South West Scotland is nice and I have only met midges inland on the hills that far south.

When did Glencoe slip to South West Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍.
Snow shoes, sandals, wet weather gear and budgie smugglers and you'll be fine 😂.
Suntan cream and Smidge are advised 🥃.
It's still in the same place. Check with Google Earth.

Sassenachs are Southern (non-Gaelic-speaking) Scots so they should all know where SW Scotland is as they live there
:)

Portpatrick , a couple of sites above the town , easy walk down into town , well worth a visit lovely little costal town , Garlieston Caravan and Motorhome Club site right in the village good walks along the coast from the site and hotel with great food opposite the site , New England Bay another Caravan and Motorhome Club site , fantastic beaches and views, Galloway Way paths from site and Mull of Galloway point lighthouse worth a visit ( but not in a large motorhome)

However, most "Southern Scots" think, incorrectly, it's a reference to English folk!

Maybe we should use the more appropriate term of "hingers oan" instead for them?:whistle2::giggler::imoutahere:

If you are very unlucky, you might encounter midges, but by & large, October is outwith their season & the first frosts usually end their reign.

Are you sure you mean midges? Just pinched this off the 'FUN-knees' thread (now in the Belly Locker) as it seems quite apt!

We're off tomorrow to SW Scotland, first night at Dumfries at Crichton campus (University & public park) we stop near the memorial church, stayed a few times, a lovely place.
