It’s quite a few years since I’ve been to Europe for the school holidays. My question is, do many of you go to Europe during that time and are places like Aires really busy.
Since I may have no choice, what advice can people give?
Thank you

Went in August two years ago without any issue finding aires space, even by the beach but got organised to stop early enough in the day. A few were full by teatime and I’m sure others have queues at really popular venues. We only paid twice in two weeks but some were in quiet village locations. You can book the Camping-Car park aires in advance with an annual subscription or check spaces live if a normal member.

Did you travel to France only or other countries. Thank you

Sorry that was just France but covered a fair area down to Limoges along with touristy bits in Brittany and Normandy etc.

We’ve travelled all over Europe in school holidays until a few years ago, daughter was at school and wife worked at school so no choice. The only site we pre booked in 8 years was at lake Garda, no issues anywhere else.

Went in August a few years back though usually avoid doing so. No probs on aires though spain is very hot and some sites close for the summer.

We manage in August every year pre book main fortnight then use aires only once couldnt get on an aire on south coast but got on site over the road. Rule of thumb set off early and stop mid afternoon to find a space!

We did School Holidays for a few years and not many times we couldnt get in an aire.

I really wouldnt like to bank on a coastal aire in that period but inland I cant think of one that we turned up at a reasonable time that we couldnt get in or get around the issue. The french just park where they want. Thaon has just come into my memory as one that is always difficult.
Marseillan Plage was full by 1100 hrs on weekday in September with queues down the road !

As wife used to be a school teacher before retirement, we avoid it like the plague! :giggle: Spring and autumn only for us now (y)
