If for instance you enter France and stay there for 20 days, then travel to Germany for another 30 days, maybe then travel through Italy 10 days, 20 days in Greece and return to France 10 days does this total count for the 90 days total allowance or because you are travelling through different countries are they counted as separate allowances.
 
Clock ticks whilst you're in any Schengen country. That's all of the EU, but not Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Romania and Ireland.
