3 years 30,000 miles UK and Europe.. Campsites and off Grid.
Wanting to go to Ireland for a wedding plus a bit of touring in August but with other plans we would only get 6 days there before we overstayed.

Was thinking of getting around this by sailing into and out of Belfast.

Anyone done this. Is it foolproof? Don't want to cause problems for our later trip to Italy.

Ireland isn’t part of Schengen.

From the UK govt site: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-ireland

Visas and residency

UK nationals do not need a visa or residency permit to live, work or study in Ireland. Within the Common Travel Area (CTA), British and Irish citizens can live and work freely in each other’s countries and travel freely between them. Both the UK and Irish governments are committed to protecting the CTA. Read guidance on the CTA.

So your time in Ireland will not count against your 90 days in 180 in EU.
