Yes dear reader I did!

I had been contemplating putting hydraulic levellers on the big bus at an estimated cost of five grand! Mmmmm says me to the sales Wallah as I scratched me chinny-chin chin. Are they gold plated I had to ask, perhaps they use unicorn blood as a pumping medium? Five F**KING GRAND!? Do I look like I cam down the Clyde on a wally dug? For that kind of outlay I'd expect a gang of Polish gym rats to attend and hold my van still wherever I parked up.

So, I pondered deeply in my fortess of solitude.

Suddenly BINGO! I devised a cunning plan, I decided to buy 2 x 3 ton bottle jacks instead (with extra rubber cups for support - Oooo Mrs!), knocked up a couple of jacking mats from some scrap and bob's-your-non-gender-specific-self defined family member.

Works a treat, all but eliminates the rockin' and a rollin'; it takes about 2 mins tops to put them in place. Most of that time is finding suitable ground to place my nice cold, refreshing lager beer to avoid a nasty fluid escape incident; Simples.

And of course... that's five grand to blow on something more worthwhile, like another motorcycle!

HUSSAR!!!

To save on payload weight instead of two hydraulic bottle jacks did you consider these at just over a fiver each?
Les (hope I havent peed you off) just though I would mention it:D

Yes, mate tried the axle-stand route. I found that I couldn't get a good "initial set" as the two pairs I have are not that precise so I ended up underneath banging them further up the chassis rails to get a good purchase. That was a bit of an embuggerance and was starting to damage the galvy coating. Not only that the next day you could see daylight betwixt them and rails as the weight of the m/h had depressed them; she's a biggy. Nearly 6 tonnes fully loaded!

Funflair, I hear ya. Pressing a button would be preferable, but five grand? The guy should have been wearing a mask and riding black beauty!

Tina, apologies for calling you Mate, that's a bit rude to a lady.

I had considered those very ones but I hadn't seen them in the flesh and I thought they looked a bit sus, the 2 jacks were about the same price and I'm lucky enough to drive a big tag axle so payload is never really an issue.
