I have a Snipe 2 Satellite set-up. On start-up it goes OK until I confirm that Astra 2 is my desired Satellite. It says 'searching' but it isn't. It just extends and looks forward in the direction the van is pointing. It doesn't look either side and consequently doesn't find the satellite.
I've added a software update with no fix. Any ideas?

Just questions for you, unfortunately.
Have you tried tuning it to another satellite in the controller just to see if it's only a problem with Astra 28.2?
Is it the latest version of the firmware you installed (the .BIN file is dated 07/10/2020)?
Did you have the .BIN file in the root of the USB stick and was it formatted to FAT32?
Did you disconnect the dish controller cable when running the update?
Did you get the Finished OK message after the firmware installed?

From what I observed on my old and confused Snipe 1 before I binned it, it sweeps at low altitude, then at a higher one, and then higher again before giving up and going back to the parked position.
Perhaps, maybe ... a mechanical problem with the motor or gearing that rotates the 'dish'. If the software has sent the 'rotate' command but nowt's happening, the processor will sit there until the end of time waiting for the next instruction.
It's all under the bonnet behind 'Do not remove' stickers, so may be diffucult to diagnose, and one of the reasons I swapped mine out for a second hand RoadPro Unit bought on this site is that no one seems to want to help with old units.

Thank you to Gellyneck, Two and twbm.

...yes, I tried that and the dish still didn't move sideways.

...I downloaded the latest yesterday and installed it, I didn't notice the date!
Did you have the .BIN file in the root of the USB stick and was it formatted to FAT32?
...yes, it was on a freshly FAT32 formatted USB.
Did you disconnect the dish controller cable when running the update?
...No, I didn't as this wasn't in the instructions! I'll try that...
Did you get the Finished OK message after the firmware installed?
...yes, it did message me saying 'finished'.

It didn't behave the last time I used it so on advice given here, I pressed the little rubberised button that is depressed when the dish is parked. Over the winter period it gets stuck in and doesn't release when the dish unlocks.
