Hi, We have a new AT V Line 635 fitted with a media pack and Sat Nav system. We’re off to Spain and Portugal for 2 months on Friday, has anyone any experience of using this Sat Nav in Europe, I cannot see how I can use map co-ordinates to find some campsites, so I shall need to take my Tom Tom Go as well which worked well in Germany and Austria last September.

Hi

Does this Video correspond to your unit and if so look at 2min 40 secs

Also if you have a Tomtom Go then have a look at the Mapcode App. It is a TT designed system that only works with Tomtom units.

You can get a "Hybrid" map image on it which is the same as Google earth and when you position the Cursor over a point on the Map gives you and Address, Long and Lat and a Mapcode for that position. You can also search for Post codes etc and then fine tune the result . The map code is accurate enough to virtually select a parking Bay in a car park so if you can see a Campsite entrance on the map you can pinpoint it exactly so that if for example on your Go unit if you input DH.FX where you would enter details in search for an address it will direct you to the Middle gate of Buck House. It works works world wide . You may have to put the Country code in front if you are in another country.

On mine, where the transverse list appears (New route etc) I just scroll to the right and “coordinates” is last on the list. Tap that and another screen appears in which to enter the co-ords.
The Nav menus on mine are not like the video above. It’s not an old model.
It’s just a question of playing with the unit on the front drive!
I’m not an expert, so hope this helps?
Sorry, can’t give you a pic because the van is in storage atm.
