Had one for 5 years many moons ago. Now starting again.
We are hoping to do a little trip down to the West Country next week.

First day trip likely to be Salisbury.

Can anyone tell me if there's any height restrictions for day parking at the London Road Park and Ride?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like only the BritFord one has access for motorhomes. uses the coach entrance

There is no information on either the Witshire Council or P&R web sites. There is a contact number on the latter (General Enquiries 01202 338 420) so it may be worth ringing them to get the information and suggest that they publish it on-line in future :)

Found this but have no idea who Steve is.

Not what you asked but we stayed at Salisbury Hills camp site with a bus stop outside the site.

Thanks all.

Wouldn't you think it would be a natural bit of info to put on their site!!

I'll give them a ring in due course.

I wish it were - and spent 13 years trying to encourage it.
One of the problems with LA web sites is that the job is often outsourced to companies which concentrate on the obvious (i.e. cheap and easy and copying others) aspects of information provision rather than looking at the big picture (something I tried to discourage during my time as a FoI officer) :giggle:

I don’t think the Salisbury P&R is run by the Local Authority but by the bus company.
Still no info on height barriers.

In amongst the website I found an email address so the question has headed their way.

We eill see.

Yes there's links to the bus company for fares and timetables but I would have thought the car park itself came under the local council. But that might be my logic and not the councils!!

We parked our 7.5m MH in the Malthouse lane CP, town centre car park behind Sainsbury. Stayed the night without issue. Listed in Park for night with several other reviews. Ideal for a meal and a jar. in the evening. Also if you are looking to visit on a Saturday, which is Market day, arrive Friday night and be settled in ready for when the car park gets busy on the Saturday(Great Saturday markey). 10 minute walk to Cathedral .

Fenman The Britford P&R takes mohos no problem but it’s not flat! Parking available in coach bays sloping diagonally! Just get yourself onto the A338 towards Ringwood/Bournemouth, turn right at the second lights into the P&R. Costs £3 per person. Hope this helps.

Most P&R sites tend to be partnerships between bus companies and councils because most councils no longer run buses. The TROs for the Salisbury P&Rs are made by Wiltshire Council.
As both Wiltshire Council and Salisbury Reds carry information about the service on their web sites they should (in my view) publish information about which vehicles may park in each location.

My better half has done a bit of searching and saw the Britford one from the air and there was a motorhome parked in the coach area as suggested earlier.
Wonder how long, if at all, before I get a repy to my email.

If you have asked for information from the council it automatically qualifies under FoI so must be answered within 20 working days. if it isn't, complain and threaten them with the Information Commissioner :)
I would hope that a simple request would be answered much quicker.

Entrance to London Rd Park and Ride. Height limit is 8ft.

Reply from my email.

All the park and rides are 8ft max but as mentioned above you can use the Britford one by entering to the right.

Better half has also done more looking and found a video of the central car park which has 887 spaces and on it was a motorhome entering.
