We've just had our Fiat Ducato 2.0 JTD re-mapped and it was an amazing result. The down side is that having dutifully informed Saga Insurance, our insurance has been increased by £60.77p . Guess who we won't insure with again

Mike.

Tell them that you have fitted "Bull Bars" and see what they say :Rofl1:

BYE BYE is the response.

Hi until Jan this year I had my insurance with Saga last year £600 fully comp no claims protected, with my niece as additional driver. My niece had a no fault claim when someone reversed into her (other driver admitted responsibility). When time came to renew insurance they wanted £1055. I check with AA £550 for same cover talked with Saga would only reduce by £100 guess who my car is insured with now.

Saga seems to up the rates when you have been with them a while, I had the motorhome and three cars insured with them for several years, the rates where very competitive and claims department excellent. Came to renew as usual, the rates went through the roof so insured else where at close to 50% less.

Came to renew again, checked Saga and once again their rates excellent.

IMHO it's all down to computers, there have the final word.:Eeek:

Ouch!
Try Comfort. We told them that we had been re-mapped and all they wanted was evidence of the new power curve; no extra money demanded.

Saga are pathetic, even though i was insured with them for 4 years. They took 3 weeks to give me a quote on a new motorhome ( over £800-00) after admitting they gave me false information when I initially enquired (£371-28). Saga insisted on a tracker being fitted....and when they did finally quote me they were nearly twice the price of 2 other insurance companies, who didn`t need a tracker and gave me quotes within 10 minutes ?? To say the least I have complained to Saga after they admitted it was their error but were not prepared to rectify their mistake, to recoup the cost of the tracker.

I am with Comfort up to now they have been very very good:thumb:

I just insured mine through insurance choice, they put me onto KGM a specialist insurers £187.00 fully comp:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

I've just insured with Saga and I was thinking about a remap for my van. I thought insurance was supposed to be based strictly on risk :Rofl1: Like a balding (bald if I'm honest!) fifty two year old is going to suddenly turn into a demon and risk all his pots and pans flying everywhere just because he's added a paltry 40 BHP to his engine just to help him reach the top of the hills stress-free and safely! I hope Saga will have a re-think or otherwise they will have another lost customer next year.

When I hit 50, 4 yrs ago I thought 'great', cheap insurance not so, Saga were the worst quotes for the car and m/bike by a long way. I suppose getting old dosn't look so good after all.

there is no logic to it at all, no point in being loyal, my car renewal with AA £168, saga quoted £116 !! both owned by same firm. Wife's quote with AA direct £180, through comparison website AA was £120 including roadside assistance.
Unfortunately you just have to change every year or two,

I am with Safeguard who seem to be very good.

I used to be with saga for house insurance but fell out with them. Having told them I did not want to renew - because the price had gone up - they helped themselves to the renewal premium without my authority using the card used previously. When I came off the roof (!) I wrote a strong letter of complaint to their MD and eventually they paid me the money back plus £50 compensation.

I had also had problems with car insurance iwth them, and would not now go near them!

Also her car insurance was due this month and they have included a second car discount . I also had my boat insured with them and they beat everybody else hands down . Honestly with no disrispect inteded to you All I can say is I find them to be fantastic so far :thumb::thumb:
