Hi Guys (likely more appropriate start given the title)
To celebrate Ireland's rise to No 1 in the rankings() we were thinking of catching some games next year via MH.
We have never been abroad in our MH but have heard France is very well kitted out!
We are going to France this September on a random trip but wondered if there were any recommendations for sites in Bordeaux, Nantes or even St Denis (Stade de France).
Seems like a fun way to do it, and we would appreciate any advice or recommendations, especially if anyone has been to world cups or other major events in France?

Planning following the All Blacks to all their games so starting to look at options as plan to work during the week and seem the games on the weekends.

As I’m a Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 supporter I may only be doing a week or two 🙈🙈🤣
You will notice,as an Irishman, I have not looked for advice past the quarterfinal:crying1:

We will be in the Marseille area for an extended weekend in late September while on our way to Spain, we have tickets for England x Argentina and Scotland x South Africa which are on the Saturday and Sunday.
We haven't found any info on camp sites yet. I'm sure it will be available in time.

Bordeaux.
Join the France Passion and you can stay at a chateau right at the end of the tram line in Blanquefort. ALternatively if you can cycle in and back on an old railway line then Creon is about 20 kms away with a free aire but there are disused train stations closer that have facility to stop overnight and might only be a couple of Kms from the tram.
Or you could park opposite the lake very near to the stadium but you may have to be extremely lucky

I’m interested in this too as we’ve got tickets for the opening Wales games and ¼ final (can’t see Wales getting past this point sadly ☹️) plan to stay six weeks but with a dog , we would like to find some way to safeguard the dog for the days we are at the games any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

Good luck with Marseille. I had tickets for both European Finals in May but the nearest camping is way, way out of Marseille. Public transport finishes early.

I ended up giving the tickets to my son and his wife, who flew down to meet up with their French friends. Unless they put on temporary sites you’ll be struggling. (y)

Our backup plan is to stay a good way outside of Marseille, probably hire a car for a few days then drive in and out. It will be a unique sporting experience for us and we will get it organised. (y)

Hi all! I’m a 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and OH is 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 ! We are heading to Santander and doing a beach stopover before heading to Bordeaux for the Welsh game on the 10th, hoping to get tickets too! Then will do another beach stop and a couple of vineyards before heading home on the 18th…. Never been abroad in the van before so looking forward to getting some hints and tips and advice from you seasoned travellers! 🧡🖤🤍

The resale platform is available tickets and coming and going at the moment so if something is not available keep checking.

Funny nobody wants my spare Namibia vs Italy ticket though ;-)

We went to ERC finals in Marseille last year and stayed at Camping Les Cigales in beautiful Cassis. It’s about a 40 minute bus ride to Marseille. There’s also a train service but it’s a good 25 min walk from the campsite to the station.

Don't drive anywhere near to or in St. Denis, I did by accident, not an experience I want to repeat.

When we looked, if it was a late afternoon or evening kick off, public transport didn’t run late enough to get us back after the evening game.

Had 4 tickets for the Friday and Saturday finals, but gave them to our son and daughter-in-law who flew out there, stayed in the city and met up with French friends. I was a popular person as one of the French friends was from La Rochelle……..sorry to bring that up.😉

This thread got me looking through my old ticket stubs. Slightly of topic but I found my tickets for two quarter finals for the 1991 World Cup in Paris (France v England) and Lille (Canada v New Zealand) which I was lucky enough to go to. What's very interesting is the ticket price, 8 Francs. At nearly 10 Francs to the pound at that time thats £8. I've even found one for 5 Nations in Paris, March 1991 (France v Wales) for the princely sum of 25 Francs or £2.50. Mad.

The price of international rugby tickets has gone bonkers.

I refuse to go anymore.

The final straw for me was when i forked out £320 for 4 tickets for Wales v NZ in c2015 when the tickets were in the end not needed.

In the old days you could sell them on at face value, but could I?

No chance. In the end I couldn’t even give them away with Welsh “fans” preferring to watch the game in the pub than live.

I lost a lot of respect for my fellow Welshmen that day and headed back to London with 4 unused tickets in my pocket.
