This is an area in Plymouth quite close to the Continental Ferry Port and is old Royal Naval yard in Plymouth.

Royal William Yard

The buildings are all Grade 1 listed and are an impressive display of what the Royal Navy was years ago. Now turned into fancy shops, offices, bars, restaurants and cinemas it is well worth a visit.

So far we have been to the Everyman Cinema with food and drinks on tap in comfy sofas and armchairs and the Hook & line, a local trawler man's fish restaurant. You can get a steak if you can't give up meat. I had prawn cocktail and the fish chowder which were excellent and the Affogato which is why I'm writing this at 3am! On street parking at reasonable rates but it is policed regularly. My son-in-law reckons he wins hands down on not paying in car parks because they are not checked regularly but he lost out here and got done as he had not put enough money on his car! Others in the party had the seafood platter, the fish and chips, mussels and chips, scallops and prawn tortillas and the kids had fish and chips, mussels and chips and arranchini balls and chips.

Our fish had come out of the sea and been landed in the morning!

Main Menu and they do a mean selection of cocktails specialising in Rum!

Everyman Cinema - what a great way to see a film with waitress service for drinks and food!

Worth a visit
