Hi all
Currently in Ainsa and after a visit to the vets in a bit for worming for our dog, intend to take the Bielsa tunnel into France. First time for us the way, the last two trips we have entered Spain via Irun.

My question is I'm deliberating which way to go when enter France. I had looked up Somport tunnel and recommendations was to set sat nav to Cadillac, which would then get us on familiar route via N10, but it also looks like you could ho directly north and head towards Limoges.

Anyone that's been this way have any recommendations? We have 5 days to get to Calais, was hoping for a 2 night stop somewhere on route to break up journey. Thinking maybe Dordogne but anywhere with a nice walk really, enjoy walking next to water or peaceful

Thanks
Lisa

Here are the routes we took last winter, in via somport home Bielsa (one on left) we set out from Ainsa like you stopped in Arreau france then up A20 to stop at Chatrauroux then home.

Somport was was closed , I assume it’s open now ?.

I use the Bielsa from St. Larry soulon
Just stopped for lunch break and looked that up, we are 10 minutes from there! Somport has reopened, I had just read some threads on here recommending Bielsa. It has been a beautiful drive so far & lovely and quiet. So glad we came this way! Just got to decide route through now, think we will do A20 as suggested by Michael as will be new
