Chausson 640 welcome
Exp
Since October 2019
Came home last week , didn’t plug the moho on our home EHU and left the power and pump on . Can battery pretty flat (not enough juice to start yet ) habitation battery still full .

Q1 does the EHU act like a trickle charger on the cab battery

Q2 should the batteries have drained evenly or even the leisure battery first - comments welcome .

Under normal circumstances I would have expected the power and pump to run from the hab battery. Having said that, the pump would not have been running and power consumption would have been minimal.
You need to get all charged back up and run tests to see what is powered by which battery.

Jewellbags for Q1 unfortunately the standard Chausson CBE electrics set up does not charge the cab battery when on EHU. I fitted one of these to overcome this shortfall.

On Q2, leaving the CBE control panel switched on and the water pump switched on would normally not impact on the cab battery as these are powered by the Hab battery.

You will need to check if the cab battery is being charged when the engine is running. This can be checked by looking at the battery indicator lights on the right hand side of the CBE control panel.

Probably just a knackered cab battery.
Check the voltage with a meter,
maybe give it a full charge then let settle and check again. Also possible alternator not charging enough ? or battery not taking a charge = Knackered

I think I have a battery master fitted as she now started up (half hour on EHU ) and Sasbo the battery light on the CBE panel is now lit up . I’ll see how she is in the morning

The battery master will work regardless of being on ehu or not, as long as your hab battery is higher/full

Jewellbags to check the cab battery is charging from the alternator you need to disconnect the EHU cable and start up the engine, then look at the CBE control panel and check that the top battery charging icon is illuminated. It's the one with two linked batteries symbol (No. 14 on the attached instruction manual page).

Yep , did that , had the engine running , switched off the ehu and the two linked battery lights were on - happy days

That depends on the battery master fitted, if it's a vanbitz one then you are correct, if it's a CBE one it won't charge the cab battery until the leisure batteries are over 13.8 volts.

Not sure if this is of any help but I had a similar issue in that my leisure battery only charges when on EHU from the control panel, so I bought a Ring 12v trickle charger and fitted a cigarette male plug onto one set of the wires and connected it into the cigarette socket( which is permanent live) and then plugged the 3 pin plug into a 240v socket inside the van to charge the cab battery.
The Ring charger comes with interchangeable wires, so on one set you have crocodile clips, which I kept, and the other set I cut off the “o” ring fittings and wired the cigarette plug.
Works for me, and the whole thing can be removed to be used on other vehicles which can take either type of charging plug, be it a cigarette type into a live socket or using simple crocodile clip connectors.
Ring charger cost £25 from Amazon and cigarette plug was £4 from Halfords.
Hope this helps.
