I know about the restrictions regarding data roaming in europe but are phone calls affected in any way ?

Me neither hence the question about the phone calls data has been done to death but not a peep about calls, I'm sure somebody will know

Ask your provider, they are the only people who can give you a definitive answer.

Not generally if you have roaming calls and texts seem to be the same as your UK allowance however it is the data cap which they call fair usage that is the main issue for most people.

However you should check with your provider as things change when you get a new contract, upgrade etc.

I think at the moment calls aren't affected with most providers but don't forget it's only a while ago that we were told there was no indication that roaming would be affected then it was just a couple of providers now almost all.

I have a 2 Yr contract with voda which runs out end of June 100 gig data unlimited calls and texts ,I will go into the voda shop and ask

General question on calls - do most UK contracts allow unlimited calls on mobiles n one EU country to landlines and mobiles in all other EU countries, please?

I can phone the UK mobiles and landlines when in Europe but I don't think I can phone say from France to Spain as part of my package but I am not sure on that one

We are with EE. They have a deal where you can use your actual data calls package in virtually any country in the world.
Cost £10 for 30 days. Fantastic value.

It's something I've been looking at a bit in case we manage to get abroad and it seems to depends on the provider, some allow you to receive calls and texts from the UK without costs but are now charging you for actually making a call or sending a text to the UK. If you do get calls whilst abroad from the UK the person making the call also needs to check if their calling you abroad is affected too ...

It's all down to the T&Cs of the provider(s).

Just been to voda shop I'm told I can use all my data and unlimited calls etc in Europe until my contract expires and then it depends on the contract you have but as stands new contracts will include calls so as minxy says above
