My 2017 Bailey 79-2 has a Pioneer media system/reversing camera. Does anyone know how to keep the camera on when driving forward? I need to see the trailer! Alternatively would a wireless reversing camera work. Truck is 7.9m long. Thanks for any advice.

Wire the power to the side lights instead of the reversing lights at the rear and then keep the sidelights on. Easy job. Wire the dash end to a live on the stereo.

Thanks. I need to check the truck because I think the sidelights are on all the time the ignition is on.

Mine is wired to the leisure battery with a switch that I can reach when driving.

Need to wire the trigger wire on the Pioneer head unit to a 12v feed or to ground depending which setting the unit is using, you can change it via the menu.

OK. I guess the trigger wire will be attached to the gearbox. I need to get the unit out of the dash and identify. Thanks. Clearly I need to spend more time going through the menu. I don't want to lose the other functions on the pioneer unit.

There is a way to do this with one of the sub menu’s , we found this by accident when my wife was fixing the voice directions on the sat nav! She says to check the map settings of the sat nav and there is a menu there that allows you to do this.

Fantastic! Easier all round if that works. Can't wait to get to the truck and try it. (It's stored 35mins away!) so will go next week. Thanks for all replies I've got several options now.

I have a rocker swtch fitted to turn on as needed. I like to keep an eye on the bike rack.

All you need to do is unwire the wire into the reversing light wire and change it to the side light wire. You dont need to find the gearbox attachment end.

Many thanks to AlunandFelicie. Yes, I found it in the sub menu after a bit of fiddling. Now I know where it is, I can view the rear camera at any time with just 2 clicks. That's saved me a lot of time or money!!

I have to admit that I didnt think this would work with what is likely to be your set up.

Good to know
