Hi,

My reverse camera stopped working (no signal) after I installed a Navi / Radio (ATOTO F7 Doppel DIN Radio). Installation was a simple plug and play by ISO Connector (A). Navi / Radio works well however i noticed that suddenly the Reverse Camera (which is connected to a seperate screen and was previously working without any issues) now just shows "no signal". Camera is connceted via a single yellow cable.

What could be the cause for this? I checked all cables and as far as i can tell there are no loose connections etc. I suspected that it might not work when the navi/radio is connected via ISO connector and stopps passing through the signal somehow but even when i disconnected the navi/radio again the reverse camera still remained off.

Did anyone ever encounter similar issues and how did you solve it?

Are there ways to reset or test any "througput signal settings" for the reverse camera by disconnecting it somehow from the battery or any other things that come to mind that could have caused this?

I dont know the model of the reverse camera (no documentation), it came standard built in with the motorhome which is a 2022 Giottiline Siena 385 on a citroen jumper basis.

Attached some pics of the camera screen showing no signal and the back of the vehicle, in case someone recognizes the make of the camera.

Have you checked the setup settings on the radio? If a pioneer unit, it defaults to no camera when the power is disconnected

There is probably a green cable that connects to hand brake which disables video when driving you can get a special loop that bypasses it and allows cameras to work or lots just don’t connect it in the first place.🤔
Here’s a
Iink that explains

At an absolute guess, based on experience, The power for the camera likely came off the back of the old radio and has either been disturbed by the install or the connection was to a power out pin that is not connected on the new radio. Most rear view cameras, by default connect to the reversing light circuit. I prefer to use an ignition switched live that allows the reversing camera to be used as a rear view mirror

Yes I have checked that just out of curiosity but the camera is not compatible with the navi so no signal there either. ATOTO navi only works with the respective ATOTO camera apparently. That is not the issue i have though. It should just remain on the seperate screen, it was working well like that before i plugged in the new Navi.

I did not touch the wiring of the reverse camera at all.

From factory side there was simply a conncetion preparation from factory for the ISO adapter which i plugged the navi/radio into. Previously no radio/navi was inbuild, it was just an empty slot.

There was no old radio, it was just an empty DIN2 slot with the wires prepared from the factory to connect radio/navi via plug n play ISO connector.

As you suggested when I plugged it in perhaps somehow the power of the camera was cut out / disturbed during this process.

I cant understand how when i reverted the whole setup (removed the radio/navi again) the power of the camera didnt come back up again (if the wiring through ISO caused the power cut to the camera).

I installed everything while the car was switched off so not sure how that could have affected the power of the cam or how I can bring the camera back to live (even if i need to live without the navi for now, i cant do without the reverse camera).

Have you checked all the fuses?🤔

beat me to it, the likelihood of a fuse blowing when playing with connected wiring is always going to be there

Do you have a multimeter that you can use to check the voltage on the wire feeding the camera?

Thanks for your ideas, am gonna check the fuses and will try get a multimeter to check the voltage and revert back.

No intention to insult anyone's intelligence, but I keep being asked "How do you measure Voltage with a multimeter?" Well Youtube is your friend with most of these tasks. Below is a very simplified descriptive video. But if you have any questions, always happy to try answering

Hi everyone, after I checked all connections and followed up on your suggestions and found no issues with the fuses or wiring I went to take another look this week and it just worked again.

I also connected the Navi and both devices are working fine, so no interference with camera from the installation of the Navi.

My assumption is that following very heavy rain some contacts must have been wet and with time this dried up.

I was given the “tip” to wait another week by a fellow Giottiline owner who had the same problem and that for him it “fixed itself” after a while.

Doesnt exactly scream quality craftsmanship from the manufacturer but for now it’s working fine. Hope it doesn’t happen again anytime soon.

Perhaps this will help someone who encounters the same problem in the future to be patient and then flag it with the dealer at the next routine check up as it seems I wasn’t the only one with this issue.

Attached some pics of the final works of atoto Navi / radio installation and a close up of where I got the usb cable up for apple car play in case anyone searches for this in future.

thread can be closed.
