The arm rests on both drivers and passenger cab seats have broken on my 2007 Fiat Ducato based Burstner A Class. I expect they have been leaned on too hard in the past and the aluminium stays have broken.
My question to the collective is: is it possible to replace the arms rather than replace the whole seat, and has anyone done this who could provide technical details. I am reasonably competent with spannering.
TIA.

Hi
Can you get access to the armrest mounting points?

If so just remove them from the seat and it will be obvious what has broken, then either replace or fabricate new.

If access is restricted, you may need to remove all or some of the upholstery. Once again this will allow you to assess the situation.

You can buy the armrests on tinternet and, dependent upon model, it's just a few screws to take out \ put in.

This 2017 thread might help:

I've got Aguti seats and the armrests are floppy and the up/down rotating adjusting knob doesn't work properly. I investigated but gave up in the end.

Thanks for the replies.
I’ll take the seats apart if I can and see how the arms are fitted.
Hopefully I can source new arms.

There is only a single bolt on the outside just below the armrest but if you can’t see it then the seat could have upholstered over it. When I converted my van I took them off and sold them a few years later to a Funster.

This is what ours (2013 Ducato based AT) look like when removed and opened up. The seat fixing is the bracket at the bottom of the picture.
I removed the bent pin, straightened it up, reinserted it and covered with a thin metal plate.
