Hi all,

I need to replace the mirror glass in my left side mirror. I ordered a 1992 cabstar mirror from ebay but it was too wide for the housing. Mine is an Atlas, which is the Jap name for a Cabstar but i didnt think the mirrors on my Jap import would be different to the UK ones.

So wondering whats the best bet? Do people cheaply make mirror glass?
or am i best off buying the housing complete with the glass?
or 3rd option, better to get some other type of universal mirror that screws onto the same metal arm that comes out from the van and attaches to the mirror?

Have you tried asking the supplier?

I think halfrauds do replacement glass that you just stick on top of the old broken one so as long as its not bigger it won't matter other than the appearance. Worth taking the old one to see if one for a totally different vehicle happens to be a near match

If taking to local glass shop: if there is such a place, presumably it will be a flat piece of glass not convexed like the existing one. Mind you that might help me see whats actually behind me better haha!

Halfrauds I will look into also, cheers.

I called Nissan but theyre closed today. I imagine though they didnt sell cabstars here in 1992 so they will make a big song and dance about how hard it is for them to get a Nissan part, but that is one of my trains of thought nevertheless.
