Got my renewal quote from my current Insurer last week - Caravan Guard. It was £278, which is £5 less than last year, and includes Breakdown cover. Just to check, I got quotes from CMHC - £330, and Comfort - £373, neither with Breakdown cover, and Comfort only allows me to leave the MH unattended for 48 hours, except on my drive.
So it's Caravan Guard for another year. :giggle:

just the sort of info that we all need at renewal time.
Yes I know every quote is different, location, history , value etc.
And... dont forget that the number of days to renewal will also make a difference. Mine shot up £30 odd quid because I left it two days closer to renewal- that was with saga

I am told that the optimum date for enquiring into the obtaining of Insurance is 21days.

Go closer to renewal date and the price goes up.

And in a similar vein, if one buys a vehicle, only get Temporary Insurance that will get the vehicle onto your ground at home (or elsewhere.) Then apply for Insurance in two-Three weeks time.
Insurance Co's love it when you want new business that starts immediately.

Just renewed with AIB (L+V). With breakdown, Europe inc. Increase of £1.40 on last year.
caravan guard and comfort came nowhere near.

I suspect it's a "post code lottery" as well as the value of the MH. Just goes to show that it's good to shop around. 🙂

I have also recently renewed with Caravan Guard. Price was the same as last year.👍🏻

Yes yes a lottery involving more than just postcodes.
The point i wanted to make is that the optimum date does appear to be 21 days before renewal but it will change as the days slip away.
Great fun if it wasnt real money!

Caravanguard insurance and breakdown cover is for uk only. European cover is £+++ extra.

Just had my renewal from Safeguard £680 last year £1230 this year, CMHC £390,
LV £380 rang Safeguard dropped renewal to £690 told them sorry but no good miles away just can't decide between the other 2.

Be careful with LV their windscreen cover is often not enough for an A Class.

Thanks Lenny I think I am going to go with CMHC.

LV seems more of a generic van insurance although the cover still looks competitive but just don't want to chance it. 👍

Not sure, but very easy to talk to. They were/are members on fun at one time.

Just insured with them.
You put your details in then they call you.
Don't be pressurised into accepting their quote as most companies guarantee the quote for 1 month at least. AIB tried it on saying the quote was only good for that day.
They insured me with Aviva. The price was the same as Comfort (via Aviva) but i beat them down and got £30 off.
The cheapest for UK travel AND breakdown was Caravanguard but no eu insurance and eu breakdown. Still hopeful for 2021!

My renewal is due, so I did the usual comparisons. Current insurer and a few others in the ballpark of £350 but Ageas, through lifesure came back with a quote of £205. I queried if it was a motorhome product, YES and windscreen cover Unlimited. It's a very big saving

I will call them tomorrow, I’ve had a few quotes but without European breakdown cover. Comfort are £380 with breakdown cover the other quotes are £240 ish without breakdown cover.

Did that include eu travel and eu breakdown as the site suggests it is uk only?

I’ve taken out LV= this year as they are very competitive and I checked cover on windscreen and I spoke to them re amount covered and they told me it is unlimited.😊👍

Yes I checked the screen cover too and it's unlimited like you say, great price but the CAMC beat their quote by £25 so went with them but wouldn't hesitate to use them next year 👍
