Hi,
We were unfortunate enough to get a stone thrown up on our screen and chip it right at the bottom. This turned into a large crack overnight and consequently have just had the screen replaced. I now find that the front Remis blinds won't shut as they foul the rear view mirror stalk by about 5mm. Does anyone know if you can adjust the position of the cut-outs and how to do it?

Can you not just pull the mirror forward,,

I had the same issue on our van and always had to slide the mirror off the mounting on the screen, until I took out a little notch in the stalk with a Dremel.

I had similar issue with my rear view camera screen (which is in place of a rear view mirror) so I ended up relocating it by a few mm.
Gentle use of heat (hair dryer etc) to soften existing adhesive along with a wallpaper scraper to remove and then re attached with some dedicated rear mirror adhesive and all been fine ever since.

Always made me laugh, we had a rear view mirror with no rear window, took the whole thing off in the hope that we could fit something in its place like a sat nav or dash cam on the remaining knuckle mount, but as anything up there would probably foul the Remis Blinds from closing at night, we have just left the idea for now.
If anyone wants a new rear view mirror let me know. :giggle:

I had the similar issue, the blinds have a metal rod that the track along, this is held in place near the mirror with a metal strip that runs the length of the windscreen, but this metal strip is in 2 halves and joins at the mirror by an overlap. With mine it was this overlap that was causing the problem and I used a piece of self adhesive felt forced into the gap to separate the strips from the window and mirror.
I used the type of felt that you buy for putting under furniture feet but a piece of thin carpet or such should work, there should be no need to cut anything on the blind fittings.

I have never found a rear view mirror that gave a rear view. Even where there was a rear window it was too far away, or too high to give a useful view. When we were all younger they were useful to keep an eye on the kids.

Thanks all.
Now sorted. I relocated the lower rail mounting bracket by 5mm and put a packer in the top rail support. Bit tricky but Ok now.

you only need a rear view mirror if you have a rear window
Wrong... a vehicle must have a minimum of 2 rear view mirrors... so even if you have a rear window and as long as you have 2 wing mirrors... then you do not legally require a internal "rear view mirror"

Maybe you’ve read that wrong, the OP was talking about an internal rear view mirror,,so Mitzi is right👍

Maybe you read it wrong.. I know OP was talking about an internal rear view mirror (as was i )
Mitzi is wrong.... you do not need an internal rear view mirror.... EVEN IF YOU HAVE A REAR WINDOW if you have two rear view mirrors IE wing mirrors.

Our Remis blinds are also fouling on the rearview mirror stem and will no longer fully shut
🙁
See photo.
My fault for buying the mirror I guess but it's a genuine Fiat part so I didn't anticipate any issues.
Has anyone found a solution please?
The blind uprights are aluminium U-shaped channel and have been cut away where shown to accomodate a mirror stem but the cutouts are too low for mine. I fear that cutting out another section just above would weaken the channel too much.
I will be using the mirror to hold the screen of a rearview camera and dashcam - once I can decide what to buy.

It looks like the mirror stalk has been fitted upside down ... would it go the other way?

I am pretty sure it's the right way up but, even turned the other way makes no difference on fouling the blinds.
Thinking about it overnight, I was going to see if I could source a new Fiat screen mount to fit further down but someone suggested trying a local windscreen outfit to see if they could remove and refit the existing mount. I guess they must do it all the time when fitting new screens?
This is how it should look. Clearly there are different model blinds available with the cutout higher up - as I need.

I would mount the dashcam on the dash itself. The clue is in the name.

I would rather the screen for the rear view camera to be mounted on the rear view mirror. The dashcam functionality is secondary. Sorry - should have been clearer but my question is about the blind upright cutouts and finding a way to fully close the blinds with the mirror in place ;-)
I have found a tutorial on re-attaching the Fiat mirror mount but how hard it is to get it off in the first place would be my question! Maybe something for the professionals if I decide that is the easiest way forward ;-)

Removed the mirror when I fitted the blinds 5-6 years ago, its still on a shelf somewhere......... haven't missed it, never questioned about it at inspection time either.....
Remove it and be done would be my advice

We are all different Roby. My better half is happy without a view of what's happening out back, me not so much ;-)

Your mirror is fitted correctly, the upright pieces on the blinds should push outwards to surround the mirror stem. I will take photo of mine in situ and post it later. You do not have amend the blinds and Fiat don’t do another mirror stem to fit the hexagonal nut your clips onto.

Hope this helps you get a perspective of how it should look, you should have a section of the upright that pushes back over the blinds to enable to 2 blinds to close together.

Just had a look where the mirror would sit if I moved the screen mount down and its a no goer sadly. It puts the mirror almost in the middle of the screen- way too far down - so I am back to looking at modding the existing or sourcing the correct uprights.
Does anyone know how the concertina blind material attaches to the uprights - is it stuck to them or does it clip in in some way?

Thanks for the photos Dave - very helpful. I need uprights like yours!
Unfortunately the pushback sections on my uprights are way too far down so I am looking at either sourcing the correct uprights (probably impossible) or modifying the ones I have. Looks like it could be a tricky job!

Ah yet another school day.. I have these blinds but no rear view mirror and the sat nav screen is connected to roof of cab so in no way interferes with screens... but I still have the loose bits at top of both screens which I could never figure out why... 👍👍👍👍👍

Give remis a call or their Uk supplier ? I believe That different sets of blinds fit different vehicles. I seem to recall when Rhino fitted mine he needed the reg to ensure he got the right ones.

I have emailed the German parent company to see if they can help. I am also checking if O'Leary Motorhomes carries any used parts. I have also found a supplier for the smaller sliding pieces I will need if I mod my existing uprights.

Nice one 👍🏻 Let us all know who the supplier is as I am sure we will have need sometime soon, the blinds are not the sturdiest piece of kit 🥴

Fitted mine to Fiat Ducato and the only thing i need to do is move the mirror to face flat with the windscreen and not angled.
