Don't quite understand your " Can only be used once statement..Be aware that this type of fitting:
Can only be used once.
And may have a right (and wrong) way up!
(If fitted with a diaphragm which permits water to only flow in one direction)
I made the mistake of fitting my connector the wrong way up,
which meant that water could only get into the pump, not out of it.
I then removed it and tried to put it the right way around to then find they are single use only.
So I had to order another connector .....
No. Diaphragm or not, they work the same way.Don't quite understand your " Can only be used once statement..
Are you talking about this particular "diaghram" type being damaged by trying to push water the wrong way through it, or the push pipe fitting.
If latter they can be used again and again if removed properly !
I've had mine apart on many occasions, and put it back in the wrong way round leading to some head scratching, still water tight though. TBH,even if mine leaks, it's inside the tank, so no worries.No. Diaphragm or not, they work the same way.
The push fit connections have a toothed washer inside, so once you push them into place they ain't coming out easily and are waterproof.
To remove them you need to destroy the toothed washer, and it's not a part you can replace.

Sorry disagree... if removed properly.. ie with grey end properly pushed in pipe can be removed without damage to toothed washer...No. Diaphragm or not, they work the same way.

If it's a switched system and not pressurised it doesn't matter either way you would hear the pump running with a tap open whether there's air in it or not. Check voltages at the switches and at the pump with taps open.Changed the pump but still not working, can hear the micro switches clicking at the taps, will check wiring at pump tomorrow, could it be air locked in the line. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks.

Is the new pump running? No power to the taps. Anybody any idea where I might find the fuse for this.
