Hi hope to travel through Champagne in March, can anyone recommend a vineyard/tasting tour.
Paul

The guided tour of the cellars at Moët HQ is well worth doing.
In Epernay.

Years ago we did one that took you on a train through the cellars , I think it was Mercier ?

We stated here for a couple of nights but this was at harvest time and unfortunately the mayor has stopped overnight stays. We had a full tour including a pressing and tasting. We also had a talk about how the champagne region works.
Tasting and sales are still available but there’s lots available in Epernay if you stay at the main municipal site there, a shortish walk into town.

Another vote for Mercier but we also visited a small producer called Allain Suisse who does it all by hand and is a really friendly bloke although you need some French. I think I'd visit 2 at the most 3 otherwise it's going to be the same again.
The tourist office do tastings as well that was the way we met Allain Suisse he was doing one when we were there.
I would strongly recommend a small producer it's their family thing means a lot more than a business to them.

There are a number of small producers in the France Passion scheme - but probably cheaper to stop on a site!

Consider using France Passion and stay on a champagne vineyard. We have done a few and have always enjoyed them. Usually a tour of the vineyard and a few glasses of the precious liquid are included. I even discovered Ratafia ( a champagne spirit ). No charge but the deal is you buy some produce. A bottle starts about 14€. We haven’t found a bad bottle yet buying direct. Some have restaurants on site or will provide meals. A great way to meet locals.

If you don't want to join France passion just ask the tourist information centre for a list of places you can stay in a MH we've stayed on loads and not bothered with France passion

Don't do GB privilege unless you have a robust liver. We loved it but , it took 6 months to recover.
