Recommend a site neer Avebury? (1 Viewer)

Does any one know of a good cheap (If both are possible!) site close as pos to Avebury stone circle? Not bothered if it has ehu or not. Just inexpensive and safe are all we need. A shower block would be nice too!

theres the barge inn at honeystreet but having just had a look at their website, prices seem to have gone up this year, used to be just a fiver a night, but is now £7.50 pppn..
interesting place though..
(used to wild camp for a night or two up at the sanctuary, but i understand they've blocked that now)

Blacklands in Calne is the nearest but there is an excellent cl site at Dauntsey Lock near the now defunct Lynham air base.On your way up you could stop off at Stonehenge Campsite Berwick St James where we are at the moment.

I like the sound of the Barge Inn - sounds very odd! My kind of place. Think we may well head up there next week. Might stop over for a night at Stone Henge too. Will let you know of we do goldenoldies - see if you are still there
