On the back of my van I have chassis rail extensions of 60mm X 40mm (I think) that stick out 500mm.
At present there is an aluminium tray of 1400mm X 500mm bolted to them.
There was an invoice from Armitage Engineering in the vans paperwork stating this was a scooter tray, rated to carry 200kgs.
At present I have a large "cargo bag" on this tray.
Above the tray I have a Fiamma 3 bike rack on which I have a Fiamma rear cargo bag.
I would like to remove the tray and the fold out part of the bike rack and place a solid storage box of 1400mm x 550mm X 500mm for better security.
I have had a price of just over £700 for a 2mm aluminium box of the above dimensions from Worrell Engineering.
Is this price reasonable and do any members have any suggestions as to other options or better priced companies.

Meant to say the quote is from Warrell Richards.

Don't know but watch your rear axle loading....?

There will only be about 40kgs in the box plus the weight of the box which is about 20kgs so about 60kgs total.

The reason I want to do away with the 2 storage bags is that they can be easily broken into.
I don't want a Fiamma rear box or similar as I don't want 40-50 kgs on the bike rack due to the strain put on the back wall.
A box on the rear chassis extension frame I have will mean no strain on the back wall and a solid box would be much more secure than my present bags.
My concerns are that buying "blind" off the internet means I have no idea of the quality until the box arrives and as I have only been able to get one quote I have no idea if the price is reasonable or not.

My payload is 580kgs so I think I'm fine weight wise.
