Considering purchase of Rapido A class (double floored) which has a massive folding table the size of Belgium in the middle of the lounge. It's on a single periscope type post apparently bolted to an underfloor structure, which can be slid / tilted / rotated etc to moreorless any configuration.

Given that we prefer the space, (and the saving in weight!) and can quite happily exist with a small camping table in in its place, does anyone preferably with engineering knowledge know if it's possible to remove this monster piece of furniture without unforeseen issues ? Plan would be to retain it for any future sale.

It's only held on by 6 large screws into the floor so should remove easily. You could then make a cover for the screw heads. We have never wanted to remove ours though as it can be positioned pretty much any way you like and also collapses down to form a double bed base for the surrounding sofacushions.

We removed ours on our 10001 , it is big but not sure it was bolted to the structure just screws as above. We then had a new set of carpets made for the full floor areas.

We have a similar large table. Like the Rapido it's held in with screws to the adjustable frame. I got some formica to match and made a small coffee table, which we swap over when the need arises. Still keeping the swivel slide mechanism.

Just a case of undoing the screws in same position and swapping them over. If you're not handy with a saw and router, in sure your local carpenter would be able to knock one up. There are lots of formica and edging on eBay to match the Rapido trim.

Thanks folks, particularly the Rapido owners, as they'll be aware of the particular fixings. Also like the idea of being able to reconfigure carpets, and keep the mechanism using a smaller top. (Though I wouldn't be surprised if the periscope fitting weighs 15kg, which I could definitely use elsewhere!)
